A Simple Spaghetti Dinner

When I was looking in my refrigerator, I noticed that I had some ground turkey leftover from yesterday’s hamburger meal, as well as some tomato paste leftover from making pizza for lunch one day. I decided to turn those leftovers into a simple spaghetti sauce.

I added a few other things I had on hand and let it simmer while I worked on the rest of dinner. Then I served the spaghetti with broccoli on the side, and we buttered and toasted a couple of sandwich buns to go along with it.

I started by sautéing the ground turkey with some minced garlic. Then I added the tomato paste, a small can of diced tomatoes, and enough water to get the sauce to the consistency I wanted. I added some Italian seasoning and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.

While the sauce was simmering, I started cooking the noodles.

When the noodles were done, I quickly cooked the broccoli and buttered a couple of the sandwich buns. I put the buns under the broiler until they were nice and toasty.

The final step was to put everything on our plates and sit down to dinner.
